Care Guide
-
☀️ Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. Protect the leaves from Nigeria’s harsh afternoon sun to prevent scorching and fading patterns.
-
💧 Watering: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Allow excess water to drain completely to prevent root rot.
-
🌡️ Temperature and humidity: Keep it warm with moderate to high humidity and good airflow. Protect it from intense heat and dry harmattan winds.
-
🪴 Soil and repotting: Use a loose, airy mix of coco coir, orchid bark, and perlite in a pot with drainage holes. A hanging basket works beautifully for its trailing stems.
-
Feeding and pruning: Apply diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during active growth. Trim long stems to encourage fuller growth and inspect regularly for mealybugs abd aphids.
During the rainy season, check the soil before watering because it may remain wet for longer. In hot weather, keep the plant in a bright, shaded location with good ventilation.
