Growing guide

1. Soak butterfly pea seeds in warm water for 12-24 hours before planting to soften the seed coat. This helps improve germination rates.

2. Sow seeds using seed-starting trays or small pots with well-draining soil.

3. Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep. Space seeds 6-12 inches apart if sowing directly in the garden.

4. Water gently after planting, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. 

5. Place trays or pots in a warm, sunny location 

6. Butterfly pea seeds typically germinate within 1-2 weeks. Keep the soil moist during this period.

7. Thin seedlings to one strong seedling per cell or pot by snipping weaker ones at the soil level. This ensures healthy growth for the remaining seedling.

8. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over a week before transplanting. Transplant them into the garden or larger pots after the last frost.

9. Space transplanted butterfly peas 6-12 inches apart in a sunny location with well-drained soil. Water regularly and provide a trellis or support for the vines to climb.
